Section 4.15 Handling, Storage, Packaging, Preservation, and Delivery

Specify the criterion to be followed for handling, storage, maintenance and shipping of an item. |
Definitions:
|
Handling.........physical movement of items from one place to another. Storage...........maintenance of an item in a specified location for a period of time. Shipping.........packaging and releasing of an item to a carrier. |
Criterion:

Handling |
|
Parts and other articles will be moved by hand or by mechanical means using sound material handling practices. Equipment used for moving such parts will be maintained to insure safety to parts and operators. |

Maintenance |
|
Where conditions or the customer requires, machined surfaces will be protected from corrosion by either painting or rust inhibiting fluid. |

Shipping |
|
Items will be shipped as specified by the customer. When no special instructions are made, all reasonable care will be taken to preserve the quality of items during shipping. Shipping will be in either open or closed containers as applicable. |
|
Storage |
|
Items requiring storage will be placed in an area suitable for item configuration and sufficiently removed to minimize the possibility of corrosion or physical damage. |
